I think they meant cannot make a mental image of Hel but just in case... here is how she was described.

QUOTE (The Warlock)
It crawled on hands and feet. Short and squat it looked like a woman.
Long greasy black hair fell in two thick braids on either side of her head and the flesh of her face and
bare arms appeared diseased looking, speckled with black and white patches.

I think the Portalcasters touched a little about how they picture Hel as in Awakenings 32 Breaking Oaths ::here::.

She freaked me out and she was definitely my favorite new character in this one. She doesn't seem very powerful, but I guess we'll see.

I have read a book where Hel is described as rotting and decaying on one half and very beautiful on the other. But i haven't got my copy of the Warlock yet, so for now I can't imagine what she looked like in the series. Anyway, Hel, I suppose, was always related with Death and the Underworld.

Hel lived in Niffleheim, until it was destroyed after John Dee destroyed Hekate's World Tree.
I guess Hel's long years in Niffleheim is enough to transform her into her current appearance...

Well many people have different views on certain things. Like I always thought of Zeus with white hair but there are those who insist he's a black head.

Anyway back on topic, I think Hel's description suits her very well in this book. She doesn't seem very powerful to me though, but she is very terrifying.

She's very creepy looking, but if you take a look back a page you will find what she looks like (if you don't want to be spoiled, don't look).

Ok I was just making sure you didn't get a spoiler.

I found Hel a very interesting character and very creepy. I think she will be a very intriguing character in the last one.

Oh you will, she's definitely in there. And she'll be in the Enchantress as well.

well in the Enchantress, maybe. In the Warlock she didn't really have a big part, not like Sophie and co. But Hel will definitely be in book 6, maybe more.
