Well if you think of it from the dryads point of view he is very protective. I think we're also getting off topic.

Palamedes, we know, has a role to play. He has to protect Will. But I don't think that's all he'll do.

I was trying to find a "crime" that resulted in him being made immortal and the only thing I could find (assuming he's the Saracen Knight and not Palamedes from Greek legend) is this.
"At the end of his resources among the Welsh mountains, he is compelled to put to death his only remaining child. By this sacrifice he saves the world of chivalry."
That is an old crime but it doesn't quite fit to me that Tammuz would punish him for slaying his own child, I don't think he posseses the compassion for that.

Maybe the crime that Palamedes did was why Tammuz was angry and wanted to torture him either forward or it's a book thing

In Greek mythology Palamedes sends Odysseus to the Trojan War. Odysseus may have been the son of Tammuz and that was the age old crime.

Oooooohhhhh!! That is a good idea. Wouldn't that be a crime? I wonder, though, are we going to find out what Pally did in the next book?

Well Palalmedes was entrusted to oversee the wedding of Helen so he was under the protection of the Greek law but not the elders

That could be.
I wonder if maybe Palamedes' crime had to do with Inanna, Tammuz' consort. Not anything romantic, but...I don't know. Random thought.

Yeah, maybe. I'm just unsure. I don't really think that Palamedes would really love anyone after Isuelt...but it sort of makes sense his crime to have been something that would affect Tammuz personally. Because otherwise why would it matter?

Yeah, Isuelt...I wonder if she'll ever come into this. And Tristan was the man that Palamedes told Saint-Germain that Isuelt left him for. But I still have a gut feeling that Palamedes' crime has something to do with Tammuz.
